Steve Procter, who has coordinated this group for the last 7 years,
is leaving Balsall Common. The committee would like to thank Steve
for running this group over the past years. At this time (August
2019) no one has come forward to take over as coordinator from him,
so reluctantly the last meeting of this group was held in July.
Without a coordinator the committee can only “mothball” it in the
hope that someone will pick up the reins again.

This group meets on the second Wednesday afternoon in the Westlake
Room. Currently the main responsibilities (some of which can be

film with a synopsis. Also ensure the details are sent to the editor
of the Sentinel for inclusion in the issue prior to the meeting
Obtain members suggestions for films and devise an annual programme
from the suggestions jointly with another member or members.

are showing a wide variety of films projected onto the large screen in
the Westlake room at the Village Hall, new members are always welcome to
this friendly group; there is no need to commit to every meeting, if you
would like to see the film - just turn up!
showings start at 1:45pm and we usually have a short discussion about
the film after the showing. There is a charge of £1.50 per member per
film, covering the cost of the films and the room hire.
Only U3A members are welcome. Non members will not be admitted to this
group. It should be noted that this is a film study and discussion
group NOT a cinema group.
