Covid-19 Information

First core meeting on Thursday 1st July 2021

Annual General Meeting 5th August 2021

Both start at 2pm in St Peter’s Hall

Following the announcement on 22nd February 2021 by the Prime Minister detailing the Road Map Out of Lock Down the trustees of Balsall Common u3a met on 4th March and reluctantly decided that it would not be possible to hold its AGM face to face on 13th May.   This has now been postponed to 5th August.   A further meeting on 6th May reconfirmed these arrangements.

Our first monthly core meeting, since the lockdown started, will be held at 2pm on 1st July in St Peter’s Hall and we look forward to seeing you all. The guest speakers will be Linda Hisgett and Angela Maloney speaking about “Backroom Stories from Birmingham REP”.

From 29th March the “rule of 6” outdoors applied. This meant that Pétanque, Ramblers, Short Walks & Walking Football resumed.

From 12th April any groups of up to 6 could meet outdoors if they so wish.

From 17th May up to 30 persons could meet outdoors, so the “rule of 6” outdoors will be discontinued.  However the “rule of 6” indoors will still apply (but this is subject to review).

No earlier than 21st June, there will be no legal limits on social contact, so all other group meetings may resume.

Naturally the situation will be kept under review by the trustees who will be guided by advice from the Government, Solihull MBC and the Third Age Trust.
